Peter Wostrel, Principal
Founder and principal of Strategic Media Marketing, Peter Wostrel is a well-read and well-seasoned marketing & sales professional in the publishing world. From the mid-80’s as Director of Dealer Sales for Musician and Billboard magazines, Peter steadily worked his way up through the industry. He spent several years as Sales Manager for Entertainment Marketing Network, quickly adding such notables as Time Warner, Miller Freeman and GPI Publications to their client roster.

After a short stint as a Senior Account Manager at Naylor Publications, a full-service, international publishing firm, Peter was discovered by the Audio Amateur Corporation and named National Advertising Director. In just three years, he increased business and ad revenue by 150% --- directly responsible for driving a number of their magazines, directories and periodicals to the forefront of the audio world.

Today, Audio Amateur Corporation is listed among an impressive line-up of SMM publishing clients which span an eclectic array of industries -- from consumer audio to pro audio, design engineering to international energy, and from the world of future transportation to the world of finance and insurance. Mike Costa, VP Sales & Marketing
An experienced marketing and sales professional, Mike started out as Sales Manager and then Creative Director for NY-based agency, Target Marketing. There he worked on world-class accounts such as Procter & Gamble, Pepsico, and Kraft-General Foods. In his next assignment as Director of Marketing & Sales for high-tech publication, Compliance Engineering, he successfully launched an international bi-monthly magazine and award-winning website. Prior to joining SMM in 2003, Mike spent several years at pc-giant, Gateway, where he was Senior Marketing Manager in charge of content, promotions and customer experience for their $400 million per-year website.


Claire MacMaster, Graphic Design
In the fast-changing world of art and graphic design in the realm of publishing, Claire MacMaster’s work has always been a step ahead of the cutting edge. With thousands of extraordinarily eye-catching covers, editorial pages and advertisements on her resume, she brings invaluable talent and experience in heading up SMM’s production team.

Amongst the many publications she has wholly designed and/or produced are Musician, Old-House Journal, Garbage, Old-House Interiors and many more. She has also been an integral part of the design of many titles owned and/or distributed by Rockport Publishers and Fair Winds Press.

In addition to her work at SMM, Claire is also principal of her own Barefoot Art Design Studio, which includes such notable clients as Design Times, CD Review, MassTran, PrimeMedia, as well as many individual business entrepreneurs and artists. [ more info ]
